Deskside Crush: November

It’s the end of the year, and the office is a bit crazy with last minute holiday gift guides and sample requests. Hence, I have no time to leave my desk. This means I eat here, and blot and what not as well. These are my current favorites for fall going into winter beauty essentials.

  • Beauty Blender blotterazzi sponge – I got this thing on a whim while exploring my Sephora. I love my Beauty Blender and have always been an oily mess. You get two blotting sponges for $20, with a cool compact case. I still have to use blotting sheets, but this is perfect for in-between blotting when I’m on the run. If you have oil-combo skin like me, I would solely depend on this, but It’s easy to carry and does soak up some extra sebum.
  • NYX High Voltage Lipstick – There’s a good chance I’m running late because I wanted that extra ten minutes of sleep. If that’s the case I throw on powder foundation and use this lipstick on the train or bus. I love it because in one swipe I get the full intensity of the color. I usually use Feline, I love a bold, deep red. It stays on all day, and does dry out my sensitive lips.
  • Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Eye Liner Pen – I got this on a whim during one of Ulta’s sale events for $10, and I love this stuff! The pen glides smoothly over my lids and is easy to work with. Sometimes the tip dries out, but a quick shake will get the job done. I keep it at my desk since I wear contacts and sometimes rub my eye.
  • Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Balm – Fresh items are expensive, but they’re a splurge for me. After a few hours of wearing ANY lipstick my lips get chapped and dry. That’s just how they are no matter how much lip balm I use a day. But this stuff really locks in moisture and softens my lips after I exfoliate. I always wear it under lipstick to keep them from cracking in the cold weather.
  • NYX Matte Finish Spray – I never really set my makeup with this stuff unless I’m going to a club or bar hopping at night. However, I use this stuff to refresh my makeup in the middle of the day. It works good to suck up any extra oil and keep my beauty look fresh—especially if I’m going out after the office.
  • Too Face Retractable Kabuki Brush – I’m always working with some kind of blotting/mattifying powder with me. It’s constantly changing! But I love this retractable brush. It’s clean, small, and easy to carry with me in my clutch or tote.
